The infrastructure investment will include construction of a new 12-storey market building alongside the broader
revitalisation of Kenya’s largest open-air market.

The President also toured the new seven-storey Gikomba Quarry Road Market (Block D), a multi-million shilling
project expected to be completed in May 2026. The facility is set to accommodate more than 1,700 traders.

In addition, he announced that the new Pumwani Level 3 Hospital, located in the heart of Majengo, will be fully
equipped and staffed by March, with operations expected to commence shortly thereafter.
