A Significant Milestone for the Youth of Kamukunji
On 25 January 2026, we launched a quick-impact training programme aimed at equipping unemployedyouth in Kamukunji with the practical skills, resources, and tools they need to succeed.
This week, 1,649 young people will begin a three- to six-month skills training
programme across 16 trades—including plumbing, electrical installation, catering, hairdressing and
beauty, driving, and more.
Training will be delivered through:
- YMCA National Training Institute (Shauri Moyo)
- Kamukunji Vocational and Technical College (Airbase)
- Rocky Driving School
empowering our young people to make meaningful contributions to their community and the local economy.
The Kamukunji Youth Empowerment Programme is built on a belief I hold strongly: our youth are our greatest
asset. They deserve not only hope—but the skills and opportunities to thrive.
