Recent investments have shifted this trajectory, positioning Airbase as a centre for technical learning and improved mobility.

Technical & Vocational Training

The establishment and expansion of technical training facilities has been central to Airbase Ward’s transformation.
  • Opening of the Kamukunji Technical & Vocational College
  • Enrollment of 565+ students across artisan and technical programmes
  • Courses aligned to market demand, including construction trades, electrical work, mechanics, and ICT support
These programmes are equipping youth with practical skills that translate directly into income-generating work.

Roads, Access & Connectivity

Infrastructure upgrades have complemented skills training by improving access and safety.
  • Tarmacking and rehabilitation of key access roads within the ward
  • Improved drainage reducing flooding during rainy seasons
  • Street lighting enhancing safety for residents and businesses
Better roads have reduced travel time, supported small enterprises, and improved access to training institutions.

From Training to Employment

The combination of skills and access has begun to yield tangible outcomes.
  • Graduates transitioning into self-employment and local construction projects
  • Increased participation of youth in formal and semi-formal work
  • Reduced vulnerability among school leavers previously excluded from opportunity
Airbase Ward is demonstrating how targeted vocational investment can restore dignity and purpose to young people.
